"A house in Tokyo to stay, create and show your works. "

After having many creative friends visiting Tokyo for inspiration, my husband Luis Mendo and I thought we could be creating opportunities and connections with the local creative scene and the communities on a more sustainable, less sporadic way.

Then we found this house, well, a house on top of a rice shop. It did not take long for us to decide to convert the 100-year-old building into a creative residence and name it “Almost Perfect”. Here designers, illustrators, musicians, etc from all over the world can make the most of what Tokyo has to offer with support from us locals.

Luis is the visual and creative side of this project while I take care of finance and operations (what a compatible couple we are!).

東京には海外から数多くのクリエイターやアーティストが訪れます。夫であるルイス・メンドと私は、東京にインスピレーションを求めてやってきた沢山の才能溢れる友人たちが地元のクリエイティブシーンやコミュニティと出会い、刺激しあえる場所を作りたいと思っていました。

そこで偶然見つかったのが、台東区にある築百年になる元精米店の建物。ここを改装して、「Almost Perfect」というクリエイティブレジデンスを作りました。ここでは、世界中からのイラストレーター、デザイナー、ミュージシャンなどのクリエイターが私たち地元コミュニティのサポートの元、滞在・制作・発表をしています。

ルイスがビジュアルやクリエイティブ、私はファイナンスとオペレーションと、お互いの得意分野を担当して運営しています。
